Feels good to know Sri Lanka tour is confirmed: Soumya

Bangladesh opener Soumya Sarkar said after today’s individual practice session at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium in Mirpur that he felt very good to know that the Tigers’ upcoming tour of Sri Lanka has now been confirmed.

Bangladesh were originally scheduled to play a three-Test series in Sri Lanka in July-August before the series was postponed. After months of discussion between the two concerned boards — BCB and SLC — it was yesterday confirmed through a media release that the Bangladesh national team will return to competitive cricket following a break imposed by the coronavirus pandemic, through their tour of Sri Lanka, slated to begin with a Test series from October 24.

“Obviously it feels good to know that cricket is going to resume. It used to make me sad seeing England play although it was also a good feeling to see international cricket has returned. Yesterday we learned that our tour [to Sri Lanka] has been confirmed

Are Bengal Tigers Ready To Take On Lankan Lions?

Finally ice is melting. Bangladesh tiger squad is going to embark on Lanka Lion hunt mission in October 2020.

With virtually no real activities since March 2020 we are not sure whether most of the Bangladesh cricketers are mentally or physically in shape for taking on strong Sri Lanka in their backyard in test series? With Shakib not available till end October and Tamim a bit doubtful the challenge can be well anticipated.

Lack of positive thoughts of BCB for training and trimming Bangladesh team maintaining bio security protocol and WHO guidelines over the past month and a half may cause Bangladesh team to suffer. The team was not in great shape before the outbreak of COVID pandemic in March in Bangladesh.  ……

Messi helps Barca sink Napoli to reach last eight

A fired-up Lionel Messi led Barcelona to a 3-1 win at home to Napoli on Saturday for a 4-2 aggregate victory which took the club into the Champions League quarter-finals for the 13th consecutive season where they face Bayern Munich.

The Catalans had a shaky start but took the lead in the 10th minute with a powerful header from a corner by Clement Lenglet before Messi scored a superb second in the 23rd, seeing off four defenders to curl the ball into the far bottom corner.

Messi had the ball in the net again soon after following a superb team move but the goal was harshly ruled out for handball by the Argentine following a VAR review, although Messi later won a penalty which Luis Suarez converted for Barca’s third.
